    IMPULSE Wireless’s technologies overcome the limitations of digital and analogue radio while maintaining the advantages of instant two-way communications.

    Any fleet owner or operator knows the advantage of instant two-way group communications such as provided by a company two-way radio. Safe and fast voice communications across the entire operation increases productivity, situational awareness, and safety.

    Hunter Readymixed Concrete wanted to improve their communications, and integrate a solution which also allowed tracking and navigation.

    The problem:

    Radios provide limited functionality, limited coverage, and high cost of ownership.

    The IMPULSE Wireless solution:

    Push-to-talk, or PTT, is simply using smart devices and the mobile network to provide two-way communications; like a two-way radio.
IMPULSE Wireless installed Samsung devices and wired remote speaker microphones into the Hunter Readymixed trucks, and loaded the IMPULSE Wireless PTT application. These replaced their radios, giving far greater coverage, more features, and reduced costs.

    The benefits: Improved communications, efficiency and safety. Users are enjoying simple operation and better coverage.

    Remote support reduces downtime and diminishes maintenance costs associated with radios.

    The system also provides GPS navigation, and is futureproof to allow even more features including full telematics integration with their current tracking, concrete batching and dispatch solution.
